HOW TO MAKE CHAKALAKA

This week in our kitchen we make South Africa’s Favourite Side Dish, there is no 7-colours or Braai without CHAKALAKA.

I swear I can’t go to a braai or family gathering and not have Chakalaka on my plate, I love chakalaka hot and spicy but not unbearable on the tongue.

This side dish is amazing with a plate full of braai’d meat.

But really, my favourite way to enjoy this is on a hot dog roll with melted cheese.

  1. This is a dish I usually make but don’t know it is chakalaka. I also add worcestershire sauce and sugar for a sweet-sour taste. Tastes delicious!

  2. Hi I’m typing this from a Greek island where I love. I have a recipe that calls for l can of chakalaka. So if I make your recipe will it have the same effect. I would think a homemade one would be much tastier.
