This week I posted this on our social media platforms and quoted it “Our second favourite South African dessert – The Peppermint Crisp Tart” The amount of comments we had on Facebook and inboxes of our foodies asking “so what’s your first”. Our favourite dessert will always be Malva Pudding with custard.

This is the most easiest fridge tart/dessert you’ll ever make.

HOW TO MAKE PEPPERMINT CRISP TART
A traditional South African Dessert – Peppermint Crisp Tart
Ingredients
2 x Tennis Biscuits
2 x Fresh Cream
1 x Caramel Treat
1 x Mint Crisp Chocolate
Directions
- In a large bowl, pour fresh cream.
- Whisk fresh cream (you can use a hand mixer, or a whisk) whisk until it thickens up, you should be able to see soft stiff peaks forming.
- Add caramel to a small bowl and mix until smooth. Now add this to the fresh cream and stir until combined. Grate in Mint crisp chocolate and stir. (Leave half of the chocolate for the end)
- In a large dish, layer Tennis Biscuits
- Pour spoonfuls of the caramel cream mixture over your biscuits and spread evenly.
- Repeat the layering of Tennis biscuits and spreading caramel cream mixture until your dish is full.
- Last step, once you’ve reached the top, grate mint crisp chocolate evenly across.
- Add to fridge to set for 1 hour. If you are patient enough, leave overnight. (Trust us! Its always better the next day)
